Five young chemists have proved they are amongst the nations best after achieving awards in the 54th annual UK Chemistry Olympiad.
Sir John Deanes students Willow Kwiecien, Joe Cooper, Jake Roberts, Samuel Beschorner-Birch and Imogen Moore were awarded bronze, silver and gold certificates in the prestigious competition.
Students nationwide took part in the event, which is run by the Royal Society of Chemistryand is designed to challenge and inspire, the UK Chemistry Olympiad is a unique opportunity for students to push themselves further and excel in the chemistry field.
Laurence Potts, Head of Chemistry at the 蹤獲扦, said: Congratulations to all the students who sat this extremely challenging paper.
The questions go far beyond the A level syllabus, encouraging students to think creatively and test their knowledge in real-world situations. They should be extremely proud of how highly they all scored.
